Mr Columbus is also the Managing Director and Main Board Director at multinational power solutions company Clarke Energy Group.
Galilee said Mr Columbus brings with him a strong strategic and commercial vision along with vast industry experience.
“This is a really important appointment for Galilee as we make the transition from an exploration company to a developer and supplier of gas into the east coast gas market,” said Galilee Chair Ray Shorrocks.
“Greg is a proved deal maker and has had significant exposure across the CSG value chain, with a consistent track record of rapidly growing each business he has been involved with.”
Mr Columbus will be appointed as a member of Galilee’s audit committee.
