WA YPF hosts successful quiz night

Attendance was strong, with special guests including the new chair of the WA YPF Amanda Hinrichs.

A total of 14 tables took part, with the winning table going to the Rosen “˜Tiger Sharks’ for the second year in a row.

However, the highlight of the night was the highly competitive wine tasting round, where self-professed wine “˜experts’ got to show-off their palates in a blind taste test and identify the grape, region, vintage and vineyard.

The spoils of the taste test went to OSD.

Special thanks go to all the event sponsors: OSD, Enerflex, Monadelphous KT Pipelines, KD.1 Limited, DBP, Rosen, Denso, CADS Survey and especially major sponsors Nacap and Murphy Pipe and Civil, and to returning quiz master and MC, Alex Aitken.

Jandakot facility tour

The month of September also saw the YPF attend the GE Oil and Gas Facility in Jandakot, 20 minutes south of Perth.

The 20 young pipeliners in attendance went on a tour of the subsea facility and got to appreciate the scale and complexity of subsea equipment such as trees and subsea manifolds.

The WA YPF extends its appreciation to GE Oil and Gas for facilitating the tour.

Remaining events for the WA YPF in 2014 include:

  • YPF Annual Bowls Day 24 October, Mosman Park Bowls Club
  • YPF Christmas Drinks Reception: 28 November, The Byrneleigh Hotel, Nedlands (held after APIA Christmas Lunch).
