Future Fuels CRC is an industry focused research, development and demonstration partnership supporting Australia’s transition to a low emissions economy.
The McGowan Government and Future Fuels CRC are working to find safe and reliable solutions to repurpose existing infrastructure and develop new infrastructure to transport future fuels.
The partnership aims to ensure the reliable and safe operating life of energy infrastructure as well as deliver safe policy and regulations associated with production and delivery.
The McGowan Government has committed around $90 million towards developing a renewable hydrogen industry.
The partnership will help the state to meet the 2022 goals set out in the WA Renewable Hydrogen Strategy.
“Joining the Future Fuels CRC reflects our commitment to making sure WA continues on its path to becoming an industry leader in hydrogen and future energy industries,” said WA Hydrogen Industry Minister Alannah MacTiernan.
“Renewable hydrogen has the potential to be a major future industry for WA, creating local jobs and helping reduce carbon emissions locally and around the world.”
Supporting the Future Fuels research will assist the WA Government in achieving its Renewable Hydrogen Strategy vision of becoming a significant producer and exporter of renewable hydrogen.
