The lunch was a great start to the year with approximately
140 attendees. Of particular interest was speaker Ken Wyllie of McConnell Dowell, who gave an interesting presentation entitled “˜Azerbaijan to Looping: The health and safety changes I’ve seen’.
Held just after the Victorian Bush Fires, a collection was on hand for people to donate to the Red Cross Appeal. The WA Chapter would like to thank all those who contributed and acknowledges the support that many companies have offered to the victims.
The lunch was also an opportunity to welcome WestNet Energy as a Lead Member of APIA. A plaque to acknowledge this membership was presented to Westnet’s Aart ter Kuile by WA Chapter Chair Jodi Gratton.
After lunch, 35 committed golfers made their way to Burswood Park to mark the return of the Annual Ambrose Golf Day.
Following some professional tips on the art of chipping and putting, the competition controller gathered the crowd for a quick explanation of the rules before sending the teams on their way.
Along with some tough pin placements, long holes helped to spread the field results over 9 strokes on a par 34 course. The margin between first and second was extremely close, and the winner was determined on handicaps – to be announced at the WA Chapter’s April lunch.
