VNIE loop 5 works underway

Reinstatement, hydrostatic testing and facilities installation on loops 2-4 are also underway, while commissioning of the 68.4 km section between Euroa and Glenrowan is scheduled for the first week of April.

Nacap is the construction contractor for looping sections 2-5 on the project, working at a rate of 2,400 m/d.

Construction on the project is a mix of traditional cross-country pipelining, special sections, crossings and trenchless construction methods.

As part of the scope of works Nacap are also responsible for the mechanical installations at the start and end of each of the loops to connect into the existing 300 mm Wolert to Wodonga Pipeline.

The VNIE Project involves looping sections of the existing 260 km Victorian Northern Interconnect (VNI) Pipeline to increase capacity, as well as increasing compression capacity north and south of the VNI, which runs from Wollert, north of Melbourne to Barnawartha, south of the Murray River.
