The event, which took place on 31 March, had a good turn-out, with many new faces from a range of companies. After a few drinks and introductions, a friendly member of the bowling club instructed the group on how to play, explaining techniques on how to curve the weighted bowl towards the white jack.
The YPFers were keen to give the sport a go, with some demonstrating a natural flair, but also took the time to enjoy the pizza and snacks provided. Sponsor Denso also introduced a bit of competition by putting a free dinner on the line for the person who mastered the bowling technique. This generous prize was won by Paul McMullen of Solar Turbines who managed to land a bowl right next to the jack.
The YPFers stayed into the evening, even after they could no longer see the jack, and left knowing a few more people in the industry.
