Valmec wins $16m SGP contract

The SGP aims to commercialise the vast gas reserves in Queensland’s Surat Basin and will include the drilling of more than 600 wells beginning this year, with a focus on an expansion from Arrow’s current operational areas at Daandine and Tipton.

Valued at $16 million, Valmec’s works will form part of the project’s first phase of development, which will involve the procurement, construction and commissioning works at the Daandine Facility.

Valmec Managing Director Steve Dropulich said the contract was a great example of the company’s capabilities.

“Clients have recognised the efficiencies and cost savings associated with engaging early with a specialist contractor such as Valmec that has multi-discipline expertise and prides itself on providing a one-stop solution,” he said.

“The SGP is a significant undertaking by Arrow that has a life of more than 25 years and will develop around 5 tcf of natural gas.”

The contracted works are expected to commence immediately with completion schedule for FY22.
