Some preliminary activities are scheduled to commence prior to the end of the year, including surveying, temporary fencing and pipe stringing, while construction activities, including clear and grade, trenching, pipe laying and burying will commence early in the new year.
Melbourne Water is constructing the new water supply main to transfer water from St Albans reservoir to the Cowies Hill reservoir in Tarneit, Victoria, aiming to cater for the projected increase in demand for clean drinking water.
The 17 km will consist of approximately 15 km of 1,200 mm nominal diameter and 2 km of 750 mm nominal diameter and will consist of a combination of GRP and conventional steel materials.
