Gas transmission pipeline
Construction of the main high pressure gas transmission pipeline was safely and successfully completed and is now being progressively placed into service.
Hydrotesting tanks
Hydrotesting of LNG tanks on Curtis Island is now underway, while construction of the main gas transmission pipeline has been completed and gas from the recently commissioned Condabri Central gas processing facility is now being delivered into the network.
The first of the LNG storage tanks will be filled with water to test its ability to hold its weight, a process that takes up to 26 days.
Condabri Central
Additionally, gas from Condabri Central Train 1 is now being delivered into the domestic gas network, together with gas from the APLNG Project’s existing Spring Gully and Talinga facilities, following construction and commissioning in June.
The Condabri Central facility is the first of seven new gas processing facilities being constructed.
Background
Origin Energy and ConocoPhillips each hold a 37.5 per cent interest in the APLNG Project, with Sinopec holding the remaining 25 per cent.
First gas is expected in mid-2015, with LNG from the second train expected in early 2016.
