Work began in early 2011 and includes the reinstatement of the King Bay Supply Base import pipeline, a road gantry for truck loading and additional tankage.
The pipeline runs from the Dampier wharf to the King Bay Supply Base terminal fuel depot.
The fuel supply will service the North West Shelf (NWS) LNG project, which is operated by Woodside.
The onshore NWS plant, located near Karratha, is Australia’s largest gas plant and processes natural gas, LNG, liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and condensate.
Shell has a one-sixth interest in the LNG, LPG and condensate ventures of the NWS project and other partners are BP, BHP Billiton, Chevron and Mitsubishi.
