Saipem‘s scope of work will include installation of a 889 km, 1,066.8 mm diameter subsea pipeline, in water depths of up to 275 m, connecting the offshore central processing facility to the onshore processing facility in Darwin.
The Ichthys LNG Project consists of the development of the Ichthys gas and condensate field offshore northwest Australia (lying in 260 m of water depth), and the construction of a gas transmission pipeline together with an onshore, 8.4 MMt/a LNG plant near Darwin in the Northern Territory.
Saipem was awarded the contract shortly after the financial investment decision was confirmed for the Ichthys LNG Project.
