Safety focus earns company entry into Federation’s finest

Murphy Pipe and Civil has been successful in gaining accreditation from the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (FSC) after its comprehensive safety audit found the company’s safety policies and procedures were of the highest order.

The FSC’s Accreditation Scheme, which was established in 2005, enables the Federal Government to use its influence as a client and provider of capital to encourage better safety performances within the construction industry.

Murphy Pipe and Civil Managing Director Jim Campbell welcomed the accreditation and the ongoing commitment to industry safety that the FSC membership promoted.

“Our company prides itself on the high level of safety procedures we purposely engineer into all of our projects to keep our employees and communities safe – so achieving this level of accreditation for this commitment is positive recognition that our efforts have been on track and very worthwhile,” Mr Campbell said.

Apart from ensuring the company’s practices align with those of the FSC, the accreditation will also open the door for Murphy Pipe and Civil to actively consult, collaborate and communicate within the industry to further promote positive safety practices.

“I am pleased we are amongst other leading Australian companies that place the safety of their employees as the highest priority, and I look forward to our company playing an active role in maintaining high levels of safety to ensure positive outcomes for the industry,” he said.

As a company with FSC accreditation, Murphy Pipe and Civil now has the necessary credentials to tender for projects that directly or indirectly receive Federal Government funding.
