From 1 July 2022, Bucher will supply Pure Hydrogen with refuse truck bodies, including electronic side lifter arms and garbage truck compactors. The truck bodies will then be integrated to Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (HFCEV), and supplied to Pure Hydrogen’s Australian customers.
This arrangement will make Pure Hydrogen Australia’s leading supplier of hydrogen fuel cell-powered heavy commercial vehicles. It is also a key part of the company’s commitment to providing more sustainable waste management solutions.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Bucher Municipal for the supply of waste collection bodies,” Scott Brown, Pure Hydrogen’s managing director, said.
“The market for garbage trucks running on clean green hydrogen fuel is significant and will help what is a very large industry reduce its emissions and its fuel costs.”
The PSA will be a 60-month contract, with the option for a one-year extension. Luke Aitken, the general manager of sales and marketing for Bucher Municipal, said that the company was pleased with the agreement. “This partnership with Pure Hydrogen and the introduction of hydrogen powered refuse collection vehicles to the Australian market is an excellent opportunity for Bucher.
“Our company believes in solving challenges through technology and we strive to develop new equipment that also maximises uptime and delivers the best return on investment for our customers.”
Pure Hydrogen has now ordered all of the components required for the trial HFCEV truck.
