Hawk Measurement Systems

Hawk Measurement Systems (HAWK) directly develops, manufactures and markets instrumentation solutions worldwide. This strategy gives HAWK an advantage to be able to respond and adapt both new and existing technologies to customer needs.

HAWK has added the Praetorian Fibre Optic Sensing family to its wide offering of process instrumentation.
Praetorian fills a need that has traditionally been conducted visually. By deploying a fibreoptic cable with a perimeter or pipeline, Praetorian is able to use the fibreoptic cable as a distributed sensor allowing it to sense vibration, temperature and strain.

Accuracy of both the presence and position of threats to an asset are able to be determined in real time, something that has until now simply not been possible.

Applications of Praetorian include:

  • leakage detection
  • intrusion detection
  • intrusion prevention
  • movement around asset
  • perimeter security
  • temperature monitoring
  • strain profiling
  • seismic monitoring
  • down-hole monitoring.
