The company operates additional factories in Adelaide, Perth and Rangiora (New Zealand), with sales and warehouse facilities an all states as well as agents in the Northern Territory and Albury.
In addition to these PE pipe factories, the company also has a corrugated pipe factory in Brisbane and a stainless steel filtration factory – GJ Dix – in Renmark, South Australia.
A number of companies in Australia produce PE pipe within the parameters of the Australian Standards, but PPI’s PE pipe is well respected by both installers and fabricators as being “˜the pick of the bunch’ when quality issues such as material, dimensional accuracy and lack of ovality are essential to a professional result.
The resources boom has created huge growth opportunities for PPI, with the company very well positioned to meet the challenges ahead.
PPI currently produces PE pipe in sizes up to 500 mm and this will be lifted to 800 mm with the purchase of an additional extrusion line for the Brisbane factory.
PE pipe from PPI has been used extensively in the irrigation, rural and plumbing markets for many years. With the company’s investment in machinery for larger PE pipes over the past six years and its versatility with existing products, significant penetration into the civil, industrial and mining markets has been achieved, with coal seam gas recovery taking a very healthy portion of the company’s production capacity.
Australian Standards Class 1000 corrugated drainage pipe as well as corrugated electrical and communications conduit, is produced at PPI’s Carole Park (Brisbane) factory. These PPI products are being installed in major projects such as the Geelong Bypass and the Pakenham Bypass as well the Melbourne to Sydney rail upgrade.
PPI’s success over the years can be attributed to its ability to form strategic alliances with customers in all market segments.
