PlantRent offers a full line of plant and heavy equipment dry hire from world-leading manufacturers to the pipeline, earthmoving, civil and mining sectors.
According to PlantRent Manager John Sexton, the company made its presence felt in 2013 through its work on some of Queensland’s largest coal seam gas (CSG) pipeline and civil projects, namely the Queensland Curtis LNG and the Australia Pacific LNG projects.
“Our comprehensive fleet has been hard at work, having played a crucial role in assisting contractors to lay an extensive network of pipelines across regional Queensland. In addition to this, we have also provided machinery for a significant number of CSG infrastructure projects,” said Mr Sexton.
“We are proud of our achievements and commitment in being able to play our small part in assisting clients to bring this $65 billion world-class series of projects to fruition,” he said.
In the last 12 months PlantRent has bolstered its fleet by 30 new machines. The scope of new machines includes 30 and 40 tonne (t) Volvo dump trucks, Case excavators (3-47 t), Case wheel loaders (13-27 t), 95 horse power (hp) Case backhoes, 75 hp Case compact track loaders and Dynapac rollers (14 t smooth and padfoot drum).
According to PlantRent Founder and Co-owner Andrew Horner, having the backing of sister company McDonald Murphy established in the market prior to the company’s inception has been extremely beneficial.
“Much of the necessary infrastructure and expertise required to run a business of this type was primarily in place. We were used to the day-to-day dealings in the industry and also acutely aware of the pitfalls too,” he stated.
Key features of PlantRent’s fleet
The fleet is very modern, which minimises downtime and gives clients the reassurance their projects will be completed on time.
Every machine arrives onsite having passed the latest maintenance checks, occupational health and safety, and environmental requirements. In addition, all of the machines are BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance mine compliant.
PlantRent offers a full range of standard attachments from buckets through to hydraulic hammers. It also hires an extensive range of custom-built or custom-designed attachments to suit a specific project task.
