A reference group for the Australian Pipeline Industry Association’s (APIA) Pipeline Engineer Training Project is currently seeking industry review and comment on draft competencies for the APIA Pipeline Engineer Competency Standards.
APIA Pipeline Engineer Training Project Manager Chris Harvey, along with a reference group comprised of David Poole (GPA), Nick Owens (NOV-FibreSpar), Joie Folkers (NOV), Dennis Kirk-Bernnand (Dennis Kirk Engineering), Archie Hyde (Bond Strong), Ian Nugent (Lean Field Developments), Lincoln Clark (Adtech FRP), Kallum Morland and Blaine Weller (Flexpipe), Andy Ethridge (Flex Steel), John Quinlan (Transfield Services) have developed a set of seven new competencies to cover composite pipe, both single layer, rigid, jointed pipe and multilayer spoolable pipe.
The reference group is currently seeking industry review and comment on these draft competencies before they are included in the APIA Pipeline Engineer Competency Standards.
