The contract for the provision of pipeline equipment to CPPB resulted from the team effort of PLM, Caterpillar Asia-Pacific District and WesTrac China, Caterpillar’s north and northeast China local dealership.

A recent sales commitment for pipelayers consisting of 10 x 572RII, 5 x 583T and 6 x 587T brings the total pipelayer sales to CPPB in the past year to thirty-five. PLM has also rented additional pipelayers to meet CPPB’s worldwide demands. PLM and local Caterpillar dealers around the world are working closely with CPPB in various locations to provide the necessary equipment and product support required for the massive projects CPPB is currently working on or has committed to.
Established in 1973 under the China National Petroleum Corporation, CPPB is the only transnational company in China that specialises in petrochemical project prospecting, consulting, designing, procurement, construction and management of long-distance pipelines, auxiliary facilities, medium and large storage tanks, electric power, and communications.
In the domestic market, CPPB has designed, constructed and completed more than 30,000 km of heavy-calibre, long-distance pipelines for various products, such as oil, gas, pulp solution, and product oil, accounting for more than 85 per cent of the total volume of domestic pipeline construction, including national key projects of West – to – East Gas Pipeline, the 2nd Shaanxi – Beijing Gas Pipeline and Zhong Wu Gas Pipeline.
CPPB has also undertaken long-transport pipeline and auxiliary facility construction in a number of countries, including Iraq, Kuwait, Tunis, Sudan, Libya, Malaysia, India and Russia, with the length totalling more than 5,000 km. Through more than 10 years development, CPPB has become a leading company in the international market.
