The work involves the transportation and installation of approximately 90 km of 20 inch pipeline – both offshore and onshore – from Barrow Island to the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
Pipeline installation will be completed using Clough‘s Java Constructor derrick pipelay barge and the Clough Challenge shallow water laybarge.
Engineering and procurement will commence immediately with site works expected to commence and be completed in 2012.
The CSJV is a joint venture between Clough and Sea Trucks Australia established for the purpose of tendering and executing a variety of offshore works on the Gorgon project.
The Gorgon LNG Development involves the construction of a 15 MMt/a LNG plant on Barrow Island to develop the Greater Gorgon Area gas fields, and a domestic gas infrastructure capable of delivering 300 TJ/d to supply gas to Western Australia. It is operated by Chevron, with joint venture partners including ExxonMobil, Shell, Osaka Gas, Tokyo Gas and Chubu Electric Power.
In addition, Peritus International Asia Pacific – in which Clough holds a majority stake – has announced that the Pöyry-Peritus partnership has been awarded the concept definition study for Woodside Petroleum’s Lady Nora Development, located offshore Western Australia.
The objective of the concept definition study is to further refine the technical definition, cost and schedule estimates and to prequalify production unit contractors. This is part of a program seeking to identify a viable oil development for Lady Nora.
Peritus will provide study management and subsea and marine engineering whilst Pöyry will be responsible for project services, topside facilities, flow assurance and process engineering.
The Lady Nora development, operated by Woodside on behalf of the North West Shelf Venture, is one of a number of hydrocarbon pools in the Greater Western Flank area to the south west of the North West Shelf’s Goodwyn A Platform.
