OSD said that the project is a boost for the service capabilities of both the company’s NZ and Victorian offices, who are working in conjunction with Canadian horizontal directional drilling (HDD) specialists Entec on the project.
The re-alignment involves two gas pipelines, including one of large diameter, with HDDs anticipated to be approximately 1.8 km each. The project is being undertaken to protect the integrity of the pipelines from coastal erosion through the region.
OSD Pipelines NZ General Manager Rene D’Ath is working as client liaison for the project due to the complexity of the geographical spread of the project team. OSD Pipelines Victoria General Manager Paul Roberts is project manager for the engineering aspects of the work.
