In 2006, Worldwide Group decided to build-up a division in Brisbane, Queensland, mainly to rent and sell pipeline equipment, but also for the rental and selling of earthmoving equipment and industrial parts.
SPX-260
Coming from the SUPERIOR Manufacturing division of Worldwide Group – Worldwide Machinery (WWM) is pleased to introduce the new SUPERIOR SPX-260 pipelayer.
The first units are manufactured already and equipped with a CAT C7.1 ACERT TIER 4 engine with 202 HP.
With a maximum lifting capacity of 26,000 kg (26 tons) the SPX-260 is ideal for pipes from 152.4-406.4 mm, and is being used across jobsites in America.
Like the bigger models of the SPX-series (SPX-960, SPX-660 and SPX-460) the SPX-260 is also built in SUPERIOR Manufacturing’s factory in Italy under CE approval, meaning it meets the European Union’s safety, health and environmental requirements.
Some of the safety features of the SUPERIOR pipelayer include electronic boom kick-out, anti-two block, free fall and the anti-tipping (ATP) system.
Anti-tipping for safety
The ATP system is installed and pre-programmed in six languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and German) on every pipelayer.
The electronic panel can monitor different lifting operations to guarantee better side and horizontal stability of the machine.
The system controls side stability by means of a load momentum limiter.
Sensors and angle meters are provided on the winch unit, thereby avoiding electrical cables along the lift boom for enhanced reliability and safety.
The ATP system assists operators of all experience levels in handling varying ground conditions.
The electronic control unit shows the lifted load and overhang in the control dashboard display, additionally it is equipped with a limit switch for both the lift boom and anti-two block.
The system monitors the machine tilting and warns the operator of dangerous gradients.
Another optional safety feature is the roll-over and fall-over protection (ROPS/FOPS), designed to allow the operator a clear view on the top of the boom and the load.
