GPA Engineering Managing Director Alf Sanzo said the AU$800 million pipeline is a significant development for the gas industry.
GPA has previously provided engineering services to many of the major gas and oil pipelines throughout South Australia, NT and the east coast.
Jemena Project Director Jonathan Spink said GPA were selected as the designers for the pipeline following a hotly contested competitive tender process.
Construction on the pipeline is scheduled to commence in 2017, with commissioning expected in 2018.
McConnell Dowell has been selected as the construction contractor for the pipeline.
