The 140 km pipeline will run from Casino to Ipswich, supplying gas to Metgasco’s Clarence Moreton Basin partner, CS Energy.
Metgasco will now prepare easement agreements under relevant New South Wales and Queensland legislation. Construction of the pipeline is set to commence in 2012.
In addition, Metgasco has said that approvals are progressing for the Richmond Valley Power Station.
The 30 MW gas-fired Richmond Valley Power Station, to be located near Casino, northern New South Wales, is planned to be supplied with gas from Metgasco’s Clarence Moreton Basin coal seam gas reserves.
Metgasco has also spud the Bowerbird E-2 coal seam gas (CSG) core well, located in PEL 13 in the Clarence-Moreton Basin.
The well is intended to test the Richmond and I/J/K CSG reservoirs within the Walloon coal measures.
