New Santos CEO axes top executives

New Santos CEO Kevin Gallagher has made his mark early by axing two senior executives, James Baulderstone and Trevor Brown.

Moving quickly, Mr Gallagher has appointed Vince Santostefano to the role of Chief Operations Officer, leading the new Production division, and Angus Jaffray as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Services, with immediate effect.

“Mr Gallagher has advised staff that two senior executives are leaving the company and that two new senior executives, Mr Vince Santostefano and Mr Angus Jaffray are joining effective immediately,” a Santos spokesperson told The Australian Pipeliner.

“This is normal business activity and is the first step in Kevin’s plans to restructure the business.”

Mr Santostefano has previous experience at Woodside and Esso, with roles including LNG production, onshore and offshore drilling and executive management, and will start work on transitioning the company’s assets to the new structure.

Mr Jaffray has experience as a Partner and Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group and as a Director of Azure Consulting, and specialises in developing and implementing strategy and creating efficient working environments.

Mr Baulderstone and Mr Brown are set to leave Santos following a transition period.
