New CO2 plant planned at Longford

Air Liquide will build, own and operate the plant that will purify and process CO2 captured at Longford in Victoria and supply it to Australian industries.

“This agreement with the Gippsland Basin JV demonstrates our shared commitment to contribute to improving the sustainability of our operations,” said Managing Director of Pacific Industrial, Air Liquide, Marcos Etcheverrigaray.

“It will help promote a supply of this ingredient which is vital for a great number of our Australian customers.”

Construction on the plant is expected to begin later this year and will be subject to regulatory approvals.

The Gippsland Basin JV is a 50-50 partnership between BHP Petroleum and Esso Australia Resources.
