Specialists in pipeline facilities Nacap were engaged by Santos to deliver 27 km of DN200 steel gas pipeline in southwest Queensland.
A spokesperson for Nacap recently shared an update of the hydrostatic team in preparation to commence testing of the pipeline.
The spokesperson said the team was progressing on-time for a same completion, signing off, “well done to team Nacap and its client, Santos.”
Nacap was awarded the construction contract by Santos back in June, and since then, the company has achieved some significant milestones, including welding out the pipeline and lowering it in place last month.
Durham Downs is located 50 km north of Santos’ Ballera Gas Facility, and Nacap was contracted to replace and upsize the existing pipeline, which was nearing the end of its operational life.
The pipeline replacement is set to transfer natural gas from the southwest Queensland fields to customers via existing Santos infrastructure, maintaining and increasing the gas gathering system’s capacity.
