DBP Transmission is the trading name of the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) group of entities. DBP is responsible to the owners for the operation, maintenance and expansion of the DBNGP, located in Western Australia.
At approximately 1,600 km long and 660 mm in diameter, DBNGP is Australia’s largest gas transmission pipeline. Engineering consulting and project management services provider Momentum will be involved in the execution of studies, detailed design work and management of implementation works as required by DBP to support pipeline operations.
Momentum’s personnel have significant experience with the pipeline having recently worked as part of an integrated team for the Stage 5B Expansion of the DBNGP. The Stage 5B Expansion involved the addition of over 110 TJ/d of firm full haul capacity plus additional part haul capacity and involved a further 440 km of looping.
Over the last two years, Momentum has worked over with APA Group on the expansion of the Goldfields Gas Transmission (GGT) Pipeline. This upgrade project involved the construction of two new gas compressor stations at Wyloo West and Ned’s Creek.
The expansion works to the DBNGP also involve installation of additional compression and are currently under construction with commissioning of the final installed compressor set to occur shortly.
