Amy Childs leaves after more than five years with the company and a replacement yet to be appointed.

On 1 August, Hydro Tasmania CEO Evangelista Albertini announced the Managing Director of Hydro Tasmania’s mainland energy retailer had resigned.

Ms Childs was appointed Momentum Energy’s Managing Director in November 2018, making her appointment more than  two years before her resignation last Sunday.

Mr Albertini said he was disappointed to lose a leader of Ms Childs’ calibre, stating the company had seen a 37 per cent increase in customer growth since her appointment.

Ms Childs, who first joined the company as General Manager of Sales and Marketing in January 2016, said it was the right time for her to leave.

“Momentum Energy is embarking on its next evolution and – after more than five and a half years in the business – the time is right for me to step out and seek new opportunities,” she said.

Momentum Energy’s current General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Naomi Morton, will lead the business while Hydro Tasmania begins the process of recruiting a replacement.
