The AFR is says that the mandate for the Australia Pacific LNG pipeline is close to being finalised.
The proposed sale closely follows the news that Santos’ GLNG pipeline will also be sold, with Santos hiring Goldman Sachs for the deal.
Shaken into action after BG Group sold its Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) pipeline to APA Group in December for $6.5 billion, the APLNG sale is expected to go for price up to $6 billion.
The APLNG pipeline is a 530 km, 900-1,050 mm API 5L externally-coated gas transmission pipeline stretching from the Surat and Bowen basins to the LNG processing plant located at Laird Point on Curtis Island, Gladstone.
The APLNG Project ownership is made up of upstream operator Origin (37.5 per cent), downstream operator ConocoPhillips (37.5 per cent) and Sinopec (25 per cent).
