MacDow secures Amadeus Gas Pipeline maintenance contract

The pipeline will continue to operate during the maintenance project, which is expected to run for a year, and will involve assessment of the coating condition as well as restoring the stations to their original condition.

The remote nature of APA’s assets, and the distances to be travelled between sites means McConnell Dowell will put a large focus on journey management, in particular driver and worker safety and remote area logistics management.

“We are very pleased to continue strengthening our existing oil and gas project presence in the Northern Territory through delivery of this contract,” said McConnell Dowell Executive General Manager Pipeline Jim Frith.

“We also welcome the opportunity to continue our successful business relationship with APA Group following on from the recent completion of the first stage construction of the Victorian Network Interconnect Expansion.”

Works are anticipated to commence in June 2015.

The Amadeus Gas Pipeline runs for 1629 km, transporting gas to Darwin for the Palm Valley and Mereenie fields.
