The project consists of the installation and construction of facilities for 53 wells across 35 well pads and includes approximately 98 km of gas and water pipelines. Construction on the project began in August, which also includes installation of the associated underground and aboveground high voltage power and communications distributions. Lean Field Managing Director Cory Stevens said that, as it is a challenging market for both operators and contractors, it is essential that safety and quality on projects is not compromised. Santos announced plans for further development of the Roma West Phase 2a in June 2014, with construction commencing in early 2015. Meanwhile, the Santos GLNG Project is scheduled for first LNG at its Curtis Island plant in the coming weeks, following commissioning of Train 1. The project is a joint venture between Santos (30 per cent, operator), PETRONAS (27.5 per cent), Total (27.5 per cent) and KOGAS (15 per cent).
