Jemena completes Barangaroo gas works

Jemena said connecting gas to the 52,000 m2 precinct was not without its challenges, including laying the new high-pressure steel service, which had to be fed through a precast sleeve installed in the concrete slab two years prior.

The company credited Zinfra’s specialist welding crews for completing the highly complex process, with plumbers, gas fitters and other trades now able to connect gas to properties in the precinct.

The Barangaroo project is the creation of a major new space consisting of parklands, plazas and coves, which will also provide a home to approximately 3,500 residents and include a new Metro station by 2024.

The NSW Government anticipates it will contribute more than $2 billion/a to the state’s economy.
