Invitation for tenders for Melbourne-Geelong Pipeline

Barwon Water said that the $A137.9 million project involves the construction of a 56.4 km underground pipeline and associated works to link Melbourne and Geelong’s water supplies.

As part of the Victorian water grid, the pipeline will deliver up to 16,000 MMl/a of water to Geelong, equivalent to half of the region’s current water usage.

The contract will be for the manufacture, supply, delivery and unloading for the project. The tender is due to close on 17 June 2010.
