UPSF extends paper submission deadline

UPSF, taking place in Houston, Texas on 12–13 June 2019, aims to address capabilities and guidance concerning corrosion and mechanical damage inspection tools for ‘unpiggable’ oil, gas and hazardous liquids pipelines

The event organisers invite professionals to submit presentations on recent experiences and successes with inspection tools used on challenging pipelines, including reports on promising research and development.

Presentations will take half an hour, with five additional minutes allowed for discussion and a roundtable open forum discussion to conclude the proceedings.

Abstracts must be submitted by 31 March 2019, with final papers due on 1 May 2019.

Proposals for presentations should be sent to BJ Lowe at bjlowe@clarion.org

The forum will allow operators and suppliers to showcase novel solutions to difficult inspections in the spirit of helping others see and use creative and often not-so-obvious alternatives to ‘out-of-the box’ approaches.

Tools and practices for pre-inspection surveys and preparing lines for inspection – including cleaning – will be of particular interest, as will tools that can negotiate unknown pipe geometry and other unexpected obstructions.
