Operator Shaanxi Provincial Natural Gas Pipeline Company has contracted Telvent to design, install, configure, test and commission the 800 km Jingbian-Xi’an Pipeline’s control and communications systems.
Improved operational performance of the pipeline will help Shaanxi secure gas supply to meet the increasing energy demands of the Chinese market. Enhanced operational efficiency is also expected to significantly increase gas transportation capacity and support exploration in North China.
Currently, Shaanxi operates four gas pipelines with a total length of 1,169 km, and transportation capacity of 4 Bcm. Shaanxi has said it expects to install additional pipelines and extend existing control centre systems to increase this capacity.
