Statoil has estimated that the Gygrid Field contains recoverable reserves of 30 MMbboe, comprising mostly crude oil, which will extend the life of the existing Njord A platform by several years.
Activities are expected to commence during the second quarter of 2011 and production is scheduled for late 2012 or early 2013.
Under the contract Technip will provide fabrication and installation of a 19.5 km pipe-in-pipe production flowline, plastic-lined water-injection flowline and gas-lift flowline of the same length.
The marine operations include structure installation, tie-ins and installation of new risers and umbilicals connecting Gygrid Field to the existing Njord A platform.
Installation work will be performed by the vessel, Apache 2, in mid-2012.
The contract is subject to approval of the plan for development and operation of Gygrid by the Norwegian authorities.
