The 91km-long pipe, to be laid using the upgraded Israfil Huseynov laybarge, is to be completed in January, according to the project operator, BP Azerbaijan.
Shahdaniz gas will be first delivered to Turkey for its further transportation to world markets. An 818km-long subsea pipeline will be laid between Greece and Italy to take Shahdaniz gas to Europe, the relevant agreement for which his planned to be signed on 4 November.
