Currently, Gazprom is preparing for the start of construction and has purchased large-diameter pipes for the project.
The 502 km Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas transmission system is expected to deliver first gas by 2011. The pipeline will be connected with a gas pipeline from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). At the same time, the pipeline system route will run across a considerable stretch within an integrated corridor with the East Siberian oil pipeline system.
The system will supply gas to consumers of the Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krais, the Jewish Autonomous Oblast and the Sakhalin Oblast. The gas will be sourced from Sakhalin I project in the mid-term.
