Russian oil pipeline to China going ahead?

While the concrete route has not been defined yet , a final outline plan is expected by 1 May. However, there are also fears that the country s oil resources might not be enough for the planned pipeline. In the summer of 2001, Yukos, Transneft, and the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation signed an agreement on the project to construct a pipeline from Russia to Dacin; the anticipated Russian investment between 2001 and 2010 was put at over US$1.2bn, and the capacity of the pipeline was to be 30 million tons of oil per year.
