The scope of work includes the installation of interconnecting pipelines between the tank farm, loading facility and the Ras Laffan jetty. The project is scheduled for completion in 2011.
Kentz Chief Executive Officer Dr Hugh O’Donnell said “The award of this EPC package reflects the confidence that this major client has in Kentz’s ability to deliver critical and complex projects.”
GE Oil & Gas’ PII Pipeline Solutions has been also awarded a multi-million dollar, six-year contract to supply Qatargas with advanced pipeline integrity management service.
Under the agreement, GE will build and deploy a custom pipeline integrity management system (PIMS) to improve the monitoring and maintenance of the Qatargas’ LNG network.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to continue our long-term relationship with Qatargas, which has an outstanding record of achievement in the area of pipeline integrity and maintenance,” said GE Oil & Gas’ PII Pipeline Solutions General Manager John Bucci.
