PPIM 2013 call for papers – now open

Event organisers Tiratsoo Technical, a division of Great Southern Press, and Houston based Clarion Technical Conferences, invite you to submit a proposal for a paper to be presented and published in the conference programme. Participating in the speakers programme demonstrates your personal and professional commitment to the industry and the quest for safer, better pipelines.

The knowledge and technology to improve pipeline performance is expanding constantly, and PPIM is an innovative way for sharing developments and experience in your area of specialisation.

It’s never been more important: the debate over pipeline safety has taken centre stage in a world of growing energy demand and new resources to meet it. It’s known that pipelines are the safest and most economical way to move oil and gas, but the controversy has intensified as both their criticality to infrastructure and the increasing incidence of failure due to ageing and other factors.

Technical sessions will include:

  • Utility pigging – cleaning, sealing, gauging
  • In-line inspection
  • Inspection intervals
  • Integrity assessment, including assessment of defects detected by inspection
  • Prioritisation of maintenance and repairs
  • Mapping
  • Geometry inspection
  • Leak detection
  • Corrosion detection and monitoring, including special threats such as MIC and SCC
  • Regulations.
