Nord Stream AG announced, following a meeting at the Saint-Petersburg Economic Forum, that it there was mutual interest with the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (RGU) for future cooperation.
During the meeting, between Nord Stream AG CEO Aleksei Zagorovskiy and RGU President Victor Martynov, the organisations explored ways they could cooperate in developing, initiating or furthering international programs.
“Nord Stream AG, with our shareholders from Russia, Germany, France and Netherlands, is interested in cooperating with the leading educational institution in the Russian oil and gas sector, which is known for actively promoting international programs,” said Mr Zagorovskiy.
“We are excited about the opportunity of cooperating one of the leading international companies in the gas industry,” said Mr Martynov.
Nord Stream comprises of twin 1,224 km offshore pipelines, transporting gas from Vyborg, Russia – through the Baltic Sea – to Lumbin, Germany.
The project was completed in April 2012, with both lines operational in October 2012.
