State-run Petroecuador said it has sent a team of environmental engineers and technicians to help clean an area around the pipeline near the town of Santa Rosa, in the Amazonas region.
The 485-km long, 24-36-in diameter, OCP is one of the country’s two main oil pipelines. It’s design capacity is 450,000brl/d, although it has recently only been transporting around 130,000brl/d from Repsol YPF SA, Petrobras, Andes Petroleum, and Perenco Corp. The OCP consortium is made up of Occidental Petroleum Corp, Spain’s Repsol, Petrobras, China’s Andes Petroleum, France’s Perenco Corp, and Italy’s Eni.
