New pipelines to supply Nigerian plants with gas

Septra Asset Manager Jafar Mohammed told a public forum in Eket that a 150 MMcf capacity gas processing plant will be located in Esit Eket, Akwa Ibom, as stage one of the project before pipelines are laid from the Esit Eket plant through Eket, Onna, Mkpat Enin to Ikot Abasi where the gas will be supplied to Ibom Power and the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON).

Managing Director of Ibom Power Company said the new project would be an important alternative gas source for the company who currently depends on ALSCON for its gas supply.

Mr Mohammed said that Septra Energy would condensate from the production process would be piped to the Qua Iboe Terminal facility located in Ibeno and owned by ExxonMobil.
