The 37.7 km, 24 inch diameter pipeline will initially supply 5 MMcm/d of gas to Santa Cruz. A final link to greater Buenos Aires is scheduled for completion in early 2011, which will increase the pipeline’s maximum transmission capacity to 7 MMcm/d.
Construction of the $US314 million pipeline, which extends across the Strait of Magellan to link links Cabo Espiritu Santo in Tierra del Fuego province with Cabo Vírgenes in Santa Cruz province, was completed in March 2010.
