The pipeline’s capacity is put at 35m tons/yr of petroleum products.
The newly-signed convention names the terms and guiding principles of the agreement, as well as the rights and obligations of each of the three countries. On 28 December, 2004, the prime ministers of the three countries signed a political declaration covering the creation of the pipeline, although the original concept for the project dates back to the mid-1990s.
