The 1,263 km Express pipeline, which has a design capacity of 280,000 bbl/d, begins in Hardisty, Alberta, Canada and terminates in Casper, Wyoming, United States, where it connects to the Platte pipeline system.

As a result of a recent open season, firm contracted commitments on the pipeline have increased from 119,000 bbl/d to 225,000 bbl/d, with the average contract length increasing from 1.5 years to more than 11 years.

The agreements increase committed contract flow by almost 90 per cent.

Contracts stemming from this open season are effective as early as October 2013 and will phase in over two years.

The company now expects 2014 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of $US160 million for the Express-Platte pipeline system.
