Phase four of the Peciko development involves 60km of 508 20-in and 24-in diameter, heavy-wall pipe whichhas been produced at the company’s Hartlepool mill, together with a over 150 induction bends. The materials have now been shipped to Batam Island from where pipe coating and load-out to the lay vessel will take place.
Discovered in 1991, the Peciko project – 60km NE of Balikpapan on the east coast of Borneo – was launched in 1996 to boost the gas production capacity of Total E & P Indonesie to meet new LNG contracts with Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. This new pipeline, when constructed, will deliver gas and condensates to an onshore processing facility at Senipah.
