Iran oil export via Iraq?

The pipeline would terminate at Syria’s Lazeghiya port on the Mediterranian.

Mr Nejad Hosseinian said the cost of exporting Iranian crude via the Mediterranian was the minimum of the available options, a good reason to be looking at the pipeline option. He also suggested that, once the pipeline is in place, Iran could refine Caspian Sea crude oil and deliver it to customers via the pipeline, which he said would be more economic for Asian markets – and even European markets – than the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline.
