Mr Deora urged both the government and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board to work together to fast-track the construction of trunk pipelines, local news sources reported.
“It is necessary to ensure that the gas available should expeditiously reach areas where it has to be consumed,” he said.
The Petroleum Minister also asked the board to design a plan to set up gas distribution units in more cities.
India’s gas production and availability is predicted to double in the next few months.
